well, i hope you all watched er tonight, it featured a song by one of my most favorite bands ever in the world ever... coldplay. they're sooooo coool.....

on the down side, one of my upside down catfish has some weird shit goin on.. i thought he had ick (a for real fish disease) so i ran a treatment for it and i thought he was better.. now it appears that it's back, and something seems to be growing out of one of his gills.. i'm mystified and plan to take him to petland tomorrow for their expertise.

in other news, there isn't any. went to work, made some more art, had a meeting.. came home 'cause i felt crappy, and watched tv. rockford just isn't the hotbed of activity one might think...

my day started out pretty crappy as i was up most of the night being sick, but it eventually came around to a fairly good end:

i added some plants and two new fish to my box of water. the plants look really cool, they're as tall as the box, and add a nice sense of verticality. the fish are awesome. they're silver tipped sharks but look just like catfish - they have long whiskers like catfish and are the same long shape. i've named them 'pseudo' and 'quasi', because they are sharks that look like catfish. this brings my fish total to 10. tom and dick (harry died), bonnie and clyde, dex, versace and gautier, pseudo and quasi, and my congo tetra is currently nameless.

i went to pub quiz tonight, and our team tied for third, but lost on the tie breaker question. the newspaper photographer was there, and got pics of my table; he took our names down so maybe i'll get all recognized in the paper and stuff :).

i was inspired by jessie's blog this morning, and created some art while i was at work today.. i'm fortunate that the job i have combines both art and history so i get to indulge both passions at the same time.

1. What is one thing you don't like about your body? - i got that one broken ear; that can be inconvienient but i'm used to it. so i'd have to say the belly i've inherited from my daddy.

2. What are two things you love about your body? - my hair is a pretty cool color(s)... and i don't know...people have said i have good legs. so maybe that.

3. What are three things you want to change about your home? - i wish it was self-cleaning. i'd like a bigger bed and more wall space, or at least the power to paint the walls i do have.

4. What are four books you want to read this year? - lord of the rings, a beautiful mind, harry potter, and when the hell am i gonna have time to read four books that aren't plays??

5. What are five promises you have kept to yourself? - i am a scene designer. i got my masters. it never occurs to me to make promises to myself... more like "it would be so cool if i..." those are the two biggest things that "it would be so cool if i..." that i've had so far.


so those are the answers to last friday's five. i resolve to keep up with the friday five, i think it's fun. you should too. whoever you are :).

so the rain has changed to snow, it's so much prettier....... yay snow.....

today i doped up.

my scenery, that is. more specifically, the buttresses for three musketeers. it's coming along nicely.. i'll have a busy two weeks, but it'll look cool. and that's the whole point anyway.
i also paid parking tickets and bills today. ew.
i'm wearing my sleeper/footy pajamas right now, and composing an ode to said pajamas. there's really nothing better than sleepers. except maybe my fleece pants. or my george foreman grill. but other than that, nothing. i'm currently listening to belle and sebastian.. i think i like them, but i'm still kind of on the fence.

i'm redecorating my fishtank, it's an on-going thing really.. more for my own sake than that of the fishies i would think. i put this stump/viney thing in there today, and i think the fish really dig it. the upside down catfish are pissed i took their favorite rock away, but it doesn't go with my planned renovation scheme. everyone else seems to be diggin it though. tomorrow i plan to add more real plants. and perhaps another fish or two... i may get crazy go nuts. what do you figure it's like, living in a box of water?

speaking of nuts, my cat is totally wiggin out on this little catnip mouse.. it's so funny!

another addition to the rita chronicles... i found out today that she's one of 10 kids, and that she had a brother that was beaten to death. how disturbing is that?????

otherwise, a very ordinary day. tomorrow should prove to be more exciting, as we're sposed to have freezing rain. i plan not to drive as much as i can.
