so my weekend was pretty good. friday i picked up jessie and sauber at the airport (yay!). and then jessie and i went into the city to help dan celebrate his birthday.. it was a lot of fun, we went to spin, and kristen was able to come too - we haven't gotten to play together in quite a while so that was great. we stayed out late, and kristen made crepes in the morning in honor of dan's actual b-day, which was saturday. saturday afternoon, jessie and i left dan's and went to the brookfield zoo. we saw monkeys and elephants and tigers and lions and walruses and sea lions and dolphins and other stuff too :). there were lots of kids there, but most of the time i felt like we were at our own personal zoo. the weather was beautiful and we had a great time. then we went to famous dave's for wings, and home for junior's cheesecake and ocean's eleven. it was a great day.

i was just reading some of my most recent posts, and i realized i forgot to mention one of the things jackie and i did was go to a bookstore in chicago called quimby's.. it's in bucktown and they carry her 'zine esperanza. you should go there, it's off the damen stop on the blue line, and they carry 'zines on everything you can think of... 'zines are pretty cool i think, it's an opportunity for anyone who's got something to say be published and heard for like almost no $$. i took her picture holding her zine and we were total cheesy tourists. it was great. she's now thinking about opening her own bookstore back in baltimore.. so exciting!!
